Disclosure

Bannerdex is free to read. This page explains how the site earns money, so you can weigh what you read here knowing exactly where our income comes from.

How we earn money

  • Display advertising. Ad slots on our pages are sold through advertising networks. We are paid when ads are shown or clicked.
  • Partner install offers. Some "Play now" links are partner links. If you install a game after following one, the partner network pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra, and the game is the same as if you had found it yourself.

How paid placements are labelled

  • Every partner link sits in a block marked Partner offer, with a sentence saying we may earn a commission.
  • Every ad slot is marked Advertisement.
  • If we ever publish content paid for by a third party, it will be labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.

What money does not buy

  • Scores. A review score is the midpoint between the critic aggregate and the user aggregate (Metacritic, OpenCritic, Steam), and each review shows its inputs. A partner offer cannot move it.
  • Rankings. Tier lists are compiled from named, published rankings. Whether a game has a partner offer plays no part in where a character lands.
  • Codes. A code is listed only when our sources confirm it. Nobody can pay to have one added.

A game can carry a partner offer and still get a low score: the offer is shown because the game is covered, not because we recommend it. Our method is described on the About page.

No affiliation with publishers

Bannerdex is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the publishers or developers of the games it covers. Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
